Hosted by: Ariane
Route: Engelberg Train Station – Trübsee – Engelberg Train Station. Hiking level: Medium/Intense
About the hike
This hike will lead us from Engelberg train station up through the forest to our highest point from which we can see the Trübsee plateau. From there we will go down to the Trübsee where we will walk along the new themed family trail to regain the quieter side from which we will start our descent back to Engelberg. Equipped with a collection bag (provided by Ariane) we will collect any rubbish we can find along our way and collect the data of our finds in the marine litter watch app, so our efforts help not only to keep our trails pristine but also add useful information to science and research. Please wear high hiking boots with a good grip and bring proper equipment (rainjacket, maybe trousers, warm clothes). Please also bring enough water and food/snacks, if possible as zero waste as possible. Important: This hike is longer/more intense, so you need to have a good fitness level and know your limits!
Distance 13 km
Height 995 to 1,796 m above sea level
Difference in altitude: ascent 802 m / descent 802 m
Walking time min. 5 hours
