About the hike

Join us on July 20 for a very special tour—we’ll be exploring the beautiful Toggenburg region! The start will be particularly memorable, as we’ll be walking the first short section of the trail barefoot on a barefoot path through a moorland landscape. We will take the gondola from Krummenau to Wolzenalp, where the tour starts, for CHF 12. This hike will then take us through a beautiful moorland area and on towards Bützalpsattel, where we can enjoy a fantastic view of Zurich and the Säntis. We will then turn towards the valley and walk via Chatzenstofel towards Neu St. Johann, from where we will take the train back.

The tour is deliberately planned on the north side and with not quite as much elevation gain, so that it remains a pleasant tour even on particularly hot days.

Information on how to get there

Meeting point: 9:45 a.m. at the train station in Krummenau. The train leaves Zurich main station at 8:24 a.m. via Rapperswil and Wattwil. A one-way ticket from the main station costs around CHF 30 (full price). We’ll also meet up with part of the group at Zurich main station; more info on that to follow.

How to register

To register, please fill out the form below. Please note that your registration is binding. Places are limited to a maximum of 10 – “first come, first served” 😉 After registering, you will receive confirmation and a message from the organizer shortly.

IMPORTANT: If you are unexpectedly unable to attend, please let us know by July 15 at the latest so that we can give others on the waiting list the opportunity to join. Participants who cancel at short notice will be excluded from future events. We strive to offer our events free of charge and invest a lot of our free time in these events (we all work on a voluntary basis), but unfortunately we have experienced many no-shows/no-replies or last-minute cancellations in recent years, which is demotivating for the organizers. Therefore, we had to establish this rule.

Disclaimer / Please note

The hike is free of charge, but our organizers always appreciate a small tip via TWINT for their volunteer work (organizing and conducting a hike takes about three days of effort). The number will be announced after registration, and you will be invited to join a WhatsApp group. Food and drinks are not included in our hikes and must be brought along by participants. Participation is at your own risk and responsibility, as we are only a volunteer community of friends and not an official tour operator. You will therefore be asked to confirm a disclaimer below. You can find more information in our FAQ.

The hike is currently fully booked. However, you are welcome to register below and we will put you on the waiting list and let you know as soon as a place becomes available!
