4h 45min, 14.4km, 613 vertical metres up and 1240 vertical metres down. Level: Difficult
Route: Glaspass – Glaser Grat – Bischolasee – Tguma – Präzer Höhe – Präz
Meeting point: Tschappina Glaspass at 10:05 am
Organised by: Julia (speaks DE, EN)
About the hike
We start our hike at the Glas Pass and head straight up the first 300 metres of altitude difference to the Glaser Ridge. There we enjoy the view before heading back downhill towards Lake Bischola. The elongated lake is a nature reserve, so swimming in it is not permitted. However, the neighbouring Lake Pascuminer is not affected by the ban. Shortly behind it is Alp Bischola, which does offer a refreshment stop, but as we have only completed 1/3 of the route, we leave it on the right and continue our hike.
The second ascent towards Tguma is coming up soon, always along the ridge with fantastic views. While the terrain slopes gently down towards Thusis, the other side towards Safiental is characterised by a steep gradient. Up there, we will also look for a place to enjoy a delicious lunch and take in the mountains.
We then enjoy the last few metres on the ridge to the Präzer Höhe before we start the descent of around 1000 metres in altitude towards Präz. From there, the bus takes us back to the valley every hour.
Please note
The hike does not have many metres of ascent, but due to the long duration (just under 5 hours of pure hiking time), full sun exposure and the many metres on the descent, it can still be challenging. We will be travelling at a brisk (but not fast) pace, so you should only participate if you have a rather brisk and constant pace and are sure-footed / experienced hikers, especially on the descent.
I recommend that you bring hiking poles. We will pass alpine huts, but do not plan to stop there as they are at the beginning of the tour. So please bring your own snacks / lunch and enough to drink. Sun cream / hats are also absolutely essential, as there is unlikely to be any shade on the ridge.

How to sign up
To register, please complete the form below. Please note that your registration is binding. Places are limited to a maximum of 10 – “first come first serve” 😉 After your registration you will receive a confirmation and a message from the organizer as soon as possible.
IMPORTANT: If you are unexpectedly unable to attend, please let us know by 31sth of July at the latest so that we can give others on the waiting list the opportunity to come along. Participants who cancel at short notice will be excluded from future events. We strive to offer our events free of charge and invest a lot of our free time in these events (we all work on a voluntary basis), but have unfortunately experienced many no-shows/no-answers or super last-minute cancellations in recent years, which is demotivating for the organisers. That’s why we had to establish this rule.
Liability disclaimer / Please note
The hike is free of charge, but our organisers are always happy to receive a small tip via TWINT for their voluntary work (it takes about three days to organise and run a hike). The number will be announced after registration and you will be invited to a Whatsapp group. Food and drink are not included in our hikes and you must bring your own. Participation is at your own risk and responsibility, as we are only a volunteer community of friends and not an official tour operator. You will therefore be asked to confirm a disclaimer below. You can also find more information in our FAQ.
