Snowshoe tour Marbachegg – February 14th

Marbachegg Bergstation – Unter Lochstili – Wittenfähren – Gassenegg

4 hrs, 7km 340 of elevation gain and loss. Level: Medium.

Organized by: Vicky (speaks DE, ENG)

About the hike

We start at the Marbachegg Talstation bus stop and take the gondola to the Bergstation. From there, we hike leisurely downhill towards Wittenfähren, then turn off towards Unter Lochsitli, where we can take a break.

From there, we will climb rapidly up almost 300 meters to the Marbachegg lakes, where we will make a loop towards Gassenegg and Buchwald.

We will enjoy magnificent views of the nearby Schrattenfluh and Hohgant peaks, and further on to the Bernese Alps with the Schreckhorn, Finsteraarhorn, and Eiger.

Please note

The following equipment is mandatory for the snowshoe tour and must be organized by yourself:

Snowshoes in the correct size with sturdy hiking boots

How to register

To register, please fill out the form below. Please note that your registration is binding. Places are limited to a maximum of 10 – “first come, first served” 😉 After registering, you will receive confirmation and a message from the organizer shortly.

IMPORTANT: If you are unexpectedly unable to attend, please let us know by February 14th at the latest so that we can give others on the waiting list the opportunity to join. Participants who cancel at short notice will be excluded from future events. We strive to offer our events free of charge and invest a lot of our free time in these events (we all work on a voluntary basis), but unfortunately we have experienced many no-shows/no-replies or last-minute cancellations in recent years, which is demotivating for the organizers. Therefore, we had to establish this rule.

Disclaimer / Please note

The hike is free of charge, but our organizers always appreciate a small tip via TWINT for their volunteer work (organizing and conducting a hike takes about three days of effort). The number will be announced after registration, and you will be invited to join a WhatsApp group. Food and drinks are not included in our hikes and must be brought along by participants. Participation is at your own risk and responsibility, as we are only a volunteer community of friends and not an official tour operator. You will therefore be asked to confirm a disclaimer below. You can find more information in our FAQ.
